Advocacy plays a crucial role in supporting and empowering survivors of human trafficking as they navigate the path to recovery and justice. This course is designed to equip professionals, service providers, and community members with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively advocate for victims. Participants will learn about the complexities of human trafficking, the legal and social services available to survivors, and the principles of trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, this training will provide the tools to support survivors with compassion, amplify their voices, and drive systemic change. Whether working in healthcare, social services, law enforcement, or community outreach, this course will empower you to be a strong and informed advocate in the fight against human trafficking.

Sarolyn Morgan, LCSW-S


Mrs. Sarolyn H. Morgan, LCSW-S, BCD, is a people and mission-driven HSI Victim Assistance National Program Manager, Certified Professional Coach pursuing her International Coach Federation (ICF) Certification, Licensed Psychotherapist since 1999, Suicide Intervention Coach, Behavioral Health Consultant, Equal Opportunity Advisor, Certified Mediator, and Colonel in the United States Army Reserve with more than 35 years of service. She specializes in senior leader development, employee development, program implementation, evaluation, management, and trauma therapy.

She is dedicated to professional and personal strategic planning. As a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) , Victim Assistance Program (VAP) National Program Manager, she supports program development and the professional and personal growth of HSI VAP employees. She provides leadership to the VAP Mentorship program, helps with policy development, statistical analysis, and database development. Prior to her role as VAP National Program manager, Sarolyn served victims of federal crimes, empowering them to thrive after horrific victimization and through complex trauma.

She helped survivors reestablish their lives from a healthy perspective, achieve educational goals and inspired community partners to help facilitate the healing process. Sarolyn also provided consultation for nongovernmental organizations, other federal agencies, faith organizations, and other community partners. She developed programs in her Area of Responsibility to improve relationships and create resources for law enforcement as they served vulnerable populations. In the military, she is currently serving as the Director of the Joint Operations Center for INDOPACOM. She has previously served as Brigade Commander, Suicide Prevention Program Manger, Sexual Assault Program Manager, Family Readiness Liaison, and Chief Social Work Officer developing programs, facilitating training, providing crisis intervention/response, and leadership to 11,500 Soldiers across 28 states.

Sarolyn has been an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Coach since 2014, a trained consultant since 2011, and a Master trainer since 2005. She has over 35 years of experience providing one-on-one and group training and coaching in a range of professional competency areas, including Individual Development Plans. Sarolyn is a Joint Combined Warfighter Graduate. She earned her Master of Strategic Studies from US Army War College in 2021, a Master of Science in Social Work University of Texas at Arlington in 1998, and a Bachelor of Social Work UT Arlington in 1995.

She has received numerous awards and Recognition for her community and military service. She has been married for 28 years to Tyron; they have two sons, Tyler an Engineer, and Jonathan a Computer Scientist; and their favorite pet, Tyson.
