Welcome to Human Trafficking 101
In this course, we will explore the complex issue of human trafficking, a crime that affects millions of people worldwide. Human trafficking is not only a violation of human rights but also a form of modern-day slavery, with victims often subjected to exploitation for labor, sex, or other illicit purposes.
Throughout this class, we will define human trafficking, examine the different forms it takes, and discuss the factors that contribute to its prevalence. You will gain an understanding of the various signs of trafficking, the impact it has on individuals and communities, and the ways healthcare professionals, law enforcement, organizations, and individuals can work together to combat this atrocity.
By the end of this course, you will have a foundational knowledge of human trafficking, the tools to recognize potential trafficking situations, and an understanding of how to respond to and prevent human trafficking in your community.
Together, we can raise awareness, take action, and contribute to ending this widespread injustice.
